Who are we?
We comprise a small team in North Lincolnshire that has a collective 60 years of experience in the global and UK cereals and livestock industries. We love our industry with a passion and seek to improve the knowledge, performance and market 'knouse' of the UK's cereal industry.
Rupert Somerscales
Chief analyst at Agri-Analytics, Rupert spent much of his professional life as an economist & analyst in the global agri-business industry, helping clients on either side of the balance sheet (and hemispheres) manage price risks and improve profitability.
Having also been a physical and derivatives trader in global Agri / FX / Energy markets for the last couple of decades, price risk management is a central tenet of his work towards achieving clients individual goals.
Rupert has trained many dozens of farmers in the practical use of derivatives, in turn helping them to improve their risk management outcomes.
Amy Reynolds
Amy joins the Agri-Analytics team as as unpaid economics advisor.
Before joining Agri-Analytics, Amy spent 25 years as the chief economist at the UN-based International Grains Council (IGC), in doing so unsettling and upsetting career plans for all the young, aspiring and upcoming talents. Bless...
Prior to this appointment, Amy was a senior economist at the Meat and Livestock Commission (MLC), managing the livestock management/analyst team and advising on both the BSE and foot and mouth crisis's to national and international audiences.
